Hey I have been reading your posts and I have heard you referring to that spot as the "Tuttles place" ..FYI it's not there are 4 owners in Black Star and it is one of the other four .. I know this as I know the owner and he was showing me the place weeks ago. He is a really nice guy and as long as you do no damage he loves that there are hikers and whatnot... But I would like to know if any of you have pictures of this place? I forgot my camera when I went and would like some photos to add to my collection. Thank you.

I believe we all were referring to the somewhat less civilized dwellings farther up the fire road. I HAVE seen those and HAVE been tailed by a white pick up truck that just gave off a bad vibe all around, though I have no proof it was up to no good besides the fact that it illegally u-turned in the middle of Santiago Canyon Road to chase us down. Luckily my friend drove a Saturn, so outracing it was no problem. Two illegal u-turns in under two minutes, then follows us up the backside of Modjeska? Coincidence? Or shady behavior?

It was probably Art Tuttle! Hes a local that chases people around in a white truck. I hear hes a dick and he carries a gun at all times!

I'm not sure why he'd trail a car going down the main Santiago Canyon Road though. We were nowhere near Silverado at all, which was the most unnerving thing about it.

I have had a few run in's with the local residence. I was followed by a white truck, he then sped towards me alarming my dog and swerved passed us at the last moment, yelling at me as he did. The then stopped in front of me and told me I was trespassing, he stepped partially out of the truck and continued to yell at me. I simply walked passed him.
