I used to always go to BSC and NEVER go beyond the gate. However, now I'm really into hiking and thought.. why not during the day!? I went the first time and it was neat to see the overturned bus, etc. The weird little commune of trailers and other stuff behind the gate. At that time I was with my fiance. This time, today, June 5th, 2010, I took my (girl) friend with me. We were talked to FOUR times by an older gentleman (late 60s, early 70s) with a white beard. He didn't have a beer belly like people say Mr. Tuttle has, but he came down from up the hill around the cattle ranch (or so he said). The first time he stopped us in his white pickup truck (it was smoldering and middle of the day), he tried to intimidate us asking where we were going, etc. and to stay on the road and not go to the private property. We were very polite and assured him were taking a hike and were about to turn around. We eventually did turn around, just before the hike turns and makes a big incline up the hill. We stop and look into the creek and see a California King Snake swimming in the water (we didn't know what it was at the time). We were staring and oohing and aahing at the snake down below swimming and here he comes in his truck again in the opposite direction. He stopped again (#2!) and was much nicer. Earlier I had proclaimed him "creepy" but this encounter was more pleasant. He talked to us about snakes and how he likes snakes and picks them up with his bare hands, etc. We told him to have a fantastic weekend and continued on our way back to the car (we still had a ways to go). As soon as we hit the paved road part (the last and final trek to your car), here he comes AGAIN. He literally was driving back and forth on that road. I said to my friend, "If he asks us for a ride we say no," and she agreed. Sure enough he did. He asked us if we wanted to hop in his truck and he would take us to the gate. We smiled and said, "No thank you we like to walk!" then he sees some boys ahead of us starting their hike so he drives to them and intimidates them. He drives to the gate. We're a little frustrated because that time was creepy...the guys agree when we ask them what he said. By the way, when he talked to us he spoke toward the ground (not looking at us) and we were on the right of us his car and he didn't roll down his window, just spoke to us from his (broken window?). So we're almost to the gate and our car, and he's waiting at the gate. My friend and I start to get a little afraid. This will be our fourth encounter. He starts reversing. We decide to go on the right side of the car since we know he likes to talk outside the left of his car. He backs up fast and turns his car sideways on the road so it's facing us. He says, "Did I almost run you over?" and laughs. We laugh a little scared and keep walking, we're inches from the gate. He then says, "You girls are very pretty," and we say thank you and walk away as quickly as possible. Who is he? People say Blackstar Bill is 30s-40s, as well as Mr. Tuttle. Has anyone encountered this guy?

i saw him as well he is effing weird... i think he had a beard and had glasses if im not mistaken, and i clearly remember him having white lab coats, 5 gallon buckets, and shovels in the truck
we rode out bikes past the gate, thats where he approached us he told us to stay out of trouble... as we kept on riding we saw the old tractor on the side of the road and his white truck disappeared along the turn... i swear to god, i got off of my bike to go touch the tractor my finger must have been an inch away, he popped out around the corner and told my friend and i to f**k off. this man was very rude and hostile to us. he was watching us the whole time..

i drive a white truck, and i am an elderly gentleman. just because some kids think im scary looking, doesn't mean i'm a bad guy. i just don't like people in my hood.

Roger, I would like to know the reasons behind wanting everybody out? besides the tagging and litering.. how did this all start? anywho I am planning to take a hike there soon...not to harm anything or anyone just to explore and admire the beauty of nature...i would apperciate any heads up that this site does not provide.

blackstar bill is long gone. he use to squatt on my bf and my land before my bf bought it. stay clear of art tuttle. i dont mind people out in blackstar. i stay out there quite a bit. i have the cabin. never go to blackstar alone especially at night. IT IS HAUNTED.
