hi i am new to the forum and i have some questions why is the road closed but sometimes open i want to take my car there is it leagal to i tool it in once but quickly left after i saw some teenagers messin around at the gate and was afraid they would close it. who has the the keys to open and close the gates plz reply thanks

It is owned by the few that live in there. They are mentally insane and could shoot at you or harm you anyway possible. The road it self is public. But is not patrolled by Orange County Sheriff and all supplies and help from Orange county are not available

there are no motorized vehicles allowed up there... however i have seen oc sheriffs drive their trucks up there. Recently i was up there at night and a local drove up there past us and yelled the usual got out youre trespassing lines at us... so i guess there are some allowed up there. I also know that blackstar connects to Skyling rd. in corona and if you buy and adventure pass for up there you can get a key to the lock on the gate to skyline, but you must have an offroad vehicle... again thats just something i heard...

Holy Jim Canyon connects to the same place, if I remember correctly. Then again by proxy it connects to Blackstar on the main divide too.

Never had anything happen during the day/early evening. One time we were there and the sun was going down as we biked back down from the mile or two we biked up. A bunch of cholo's had just arrived and were walking up the road with beer or something and basically said hi. Maybe we were lucky, but it also had to do with the fact that there was still a tiny bit of daylight left. As long as it's light most of what you gotta worry about are the mountain lions and occasional rattlesnake, though both are still a bigger threat at night.

Downhilldog The raod is closed because it is unstable the sheriff, fire department, park rangers, the millitary, and artuttle the guy who shoots at everyone, and edwards ranch are the only people with the keys. You can drive on it, the only way to get to it is off the main devide truck trail. If you do go though bring a few gas cans with you because if u run out of gas it will take 3 hours for a toe company to reach u depending on where u r on the road. But its fun to off road back there once u get there. :]
